Within the field of marine engineering Royal Roos offers a complete range of engineering works, from concept to basic design and detailed engineering.
From modifications on deck to a new engine room layout, seafastening arrangements for towage or mooring analysis.
Whether it is structural, mechanical or electronical, we have skilled staff and the software to do the job.
In the field of marine salvage Royal Roos offers the following services:
One of the spearheads of our company is repair and modification works for Life Time Extension (LTE), conversion and class renewal of ships and offshore structures.
As a company we underwrite the importance of timely repair and modification works in order to extend the life time of any seagoing vessel. In this process we work in close cooperation with classification societies.
We dedicate ourselves to always think a step ahead for our clients. Giving the best possible advice and meeting the relevant class society’s rules.
All Royal Roos engineers have extensive expertise with project support in complex projects for docking, repair & maintenance, conversion and new building of ships and offshore structures. We can offer the complete range of support from pre-specs to close out documentation or any singular part in this process.

Pre-specs are technical inspections prior to (major) repair or conversion jobs which describe the nature and extent of works to be carried out. In this way projects become more manageable from the start with regards to expected project duration, additional work and cost.
Experienced and specialized engineers will carry out inspections on site. Results are summarized in a clear report or tender document. This information can then be used in the planning phase or tendering process.
Pre-specs are available for:
Royal Roos sees work preparation as the most critical part in a successful project. During this phase engineers will determine the complete scope of work including expected cost and duration. The next step is dividing the complete scope into several work packages (WPs) which cover 'what, how, who, where and when' following the applicable class rules and regulations. The work packages make the basis for a detailed project planning by a professional project planner. Our experience is, with a thorough work preparation, the benefits for a project - in means of time and cost savings - can be enormous.
In Asia Royal Roos has good relations with a network of construction workshops and machine shops which enables us to offer complete engineering solutions including fabrication of structures and machining of parts. We are able to prepare a free quote for machining and fabrication of steel parts and assemblies
Fabrication services includes:
Following construction of parts and assemblies is installation on site. Project planning and logistics are essential to ensure that all parts are in the right place at the right time. Royal Roos engineers can carry out installation on site or give installation support by composing a clear step-by-step installation manual for installation by the client.
After installation it is important to have a fault free operating system. Next to installation support we therefore also provide commissioning on site.
During the close out phase of a project all project documentation needs to be finalized as well. Royal Roos arranges all required documentation from hand-overs, classification documentation to as-builts.
Royal Roos SketchExpress is a user friendly, professional and cost efficient way to transform sketches or draft technical drawings into professional 2D or 3D drawings.
Looking for as-built drawings, reverse engineering drawings or mechanical 3D modelling? Sketch express transforms your sketch to a perfect drawing!
SketchExpress is easy to use, professional. Saving time and money. Read more about SketchExpress below or go directly to the site.
Just a device with an internet connection and go!
The idea for SketchExpress was born working on-site.On-site changes and repairs to existing equipment are often needed, but necessary drawings are either not available, outdated or only accessible as hardcopy or .pdf.While what you need is a good quality technical drawing for repairs and/or fabrication of parts, preferably at once.
With the SketchExpress application it is possible to get CAD drawings - including necessary changes - of good quality in no time. While the draftsman is preparing your drawing you can start up the repair and/or production works for the shipyard/workshop.
REGISTER: Take a sip of your coffee and wait for the confirmation email.
UPLOAD: Specify the drawing/project particulars and upload your sketches to the vault. You will receive an email message when your drawing/project has been accepted.
REVISE: Acceptance of the drawing/project links you directly to a draftsman. Communication is easy via notes posted to the application's dashboard. Two revision rounds are included.
DOWNLOAD: The draftsman will upload the final version in the requested file format. The drawing is released for download after a final approval quality check by the SketchExpress Administrator.
